Meet Riga, Latvia’s vibrant capital and the Baltic region’s leading running destination. Wander through its UNESCO-listed Old Town, admire its remarkable Art Nouveau architecture or cross the Daugava River to explore another side of the city, where the striking National Library of Latvia is just one of many places worth discovering.

With a compact city centre, lively food scene and easy connections to cities across Europe, Riga is made for a race weekend that goes well beyond the finish line.

Over the years, the Rimi Riga Marathon has grown into a major running festival, welcoming more than 46,000 participants from 116 countries across its distances in 2026. That growth now gives the Rimi Riga Half Marathon its own spotlight, while keeping it part of the same great race weekend.

Riga also made road running history by hosting the inaugural World Athletics Road Running Championships in 2023. With the Rimi Riga Half Marathon joining SuperHalfs Europa, even more runners can discover what makes racing in Riga so special.
