The Prague Half Marathon is an unforgettable race for more reasons than one. Stunning scenery awaits you at every twist and turn of the course, including the Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, the National Theatre, Vyšehrad Castle and the Rudolfinum Concert Hall.

The event’s motto is ‘ALL RUNNERS ARE BEAUTIFUL’ and that is reflected in the varied field of runners who take part every year. Local schoolchildren rub shoulders with the world’s fastest distance runners, who set records over the flat and fast course.

The Prague Half Marathon was set up with one simple goal in mind - inspire the people of the Czech Republic to get active and become healthier and happier. Now almost 25 years later it has become one of Europe's most popular half marathons.

The race takes place in a looped course of Prague with breathtaking views of Prague Castle along the way. Runners and spectators are treated to a party atmosphere, which keeps people from all over the world coming back year after year.

What's it like to run here?

Whatever you hear from other people about Prague can’t even come close to experiencing the city for yourself. The Czech Republic’s capital is famous throughout the world as one of Europe’s cultural hotspots, and with good reason.

Simply direct your gaze upwards anywhere in Prague and you’ll be treated to architectural splendour wherever you look, with beautiful Gothic buildings stretching all the way from the city centre to the outskirts.

Top 5 things to do in Prague

Prague Castle

The most visited location by tourists in the city, Prague Castle holds the world record for the world’s biggest ancient castle.

Old Town Square

There’s no better place to admire the city’s Gothic architecture. Markets are often held in the square, and you’ll be delighted by the range of street performers.

Charles Bridge

You’ll be crossing this 14th century bridge during the race, but it’s worth going back to truly appreciate this architectural homage to Charles IV.

Lennon Wall

A large collaborative mural to Beatles singer and icon of peace and unity John Lennon. The wall started in the 1980s and is constantly changing, with graffiti artists adding images, quotes and lyrics.

Sample the local beer

Prague is famous for its beers, and many of the country’s best breweries can be found here, which offer tours and samples of the many varieties.
